texting and driving 4/15/14

In many cases mankind has grown to attached to their technology way to attached to be safe anymore.           people and their phones are extremely hard to take away if you're helplessly addicted to it.  In todays generation we are on our phones 24/7 we use them to play music all day,  we take selfies and play our apps to points where they ignore their surroundings and get in trouble and if you take this bad habit into a car I wonder what trouble you could get into while doing that.  It doesn't take a genius to know while on the road you have to pay attention to what is around you.  Do you think its ok when you look at those texts and reply to them.  Do you think its ok to kill someone or endanger your own life. there are on average 330,000 injuries in a texting related accidents. this is telling us texting is becoming more important than you're own life and others lives. technology is addicting i know that but it should be something you can set down for at least an hour long drive. 
Why is technology so addicting that it can in some situations you put it over you own lives? Its because it is a tool to push away your boredom. when teens with phone are bored what do they usually do. They pull out their phones and do what they do. This habit is a thing that is harmful to us when we drive. Driving is fun for the first few times but it gets old and boring and with that habit you have you will most likely pull out your phone and do what you do when ever you get the chance. thats why texting is especially bad when driving. driving require 100 percent of your focus to minimize accidents.
